8 Questions with New York City’s Big Personality: Robert Galinsky
Not everyone wants to go to prison, but you sought it out… Why do you do you want to go to jail? I am tired of the bystander mentality that our culture is comfortable with. I am finished with watching, commenting, and then carrying on as if I can’t have an effect on the world’s condition. I was put on this earth to participate wholly and I believe everybody was put on this earth to participate wholly and to not simply “share,” “comment,” and “like.” Sharing, commenting and liking are good only if they are attached to doing, so I love going as close to the heart of the problems I see and I try my best to bring More>>>
Lime Leaves and Bedbugs—Dinner and Theater on New York’s Upper West Side
Friday night’s adventure started off as a quest for fine food and a bit of off-Broadway entertainment and that’s exactly what we found! We jumped in a taxi and headed over to the west side on the recommendation from a friend to try an Indian-owned Thai restaurant named Lime Leaf. Upon entering this fresh-feeling, unassuming dining establishment, we were warmly greeted and seated for what turned out to be an exquisite meal. Owner Sudhir Bhat has assembled a staff of Thai food experts that help make Lime Leaf's cuisine some of the most delectable and authentic in the city. More>>>

Hair on Broadway
Cascading energy, hippies hanging from the rafters, flower children running up and down the aisles and..... that’s only the beginning of the rock musical revival of HAIR. This is a classic show that has stood the test of time and has been a runaway success in each and every incarnation.
“Hair” opened on Broadway in 1968. It was inspired by the hippie counter-culture, anti-establishment, anti-war and sexual revolution of the 1960s. The production illustrates the supposition of real life — self-expression, freedom, love and peace. The hippie movement advocated drugs, mystic religions, rock-and-roll, free love and open nudity, but most of all they fought against the forces of intolerance and any and all brutality. More>>>

The Flying Culinary Circus Comes To Town
No this is not an offshoot of Monty Python, but is in fact a quartet of personable young globetrotting Norwegian chefs with unpronounceable names who have created this flying culinary circus. They go to wherever they are hired to cook up a feast from 2 people up to 2200 anywhere in the world and I recently met up with them at a private lunch tasting to showcase their talents in Santa Monica at the trendy Shangri La Hotel.

Caught In A Web Of Spectacular!
Last week I had the pleasure of seeing Spiderman Turn Off The Dark, Version 2 . Admittedly, I was less then excited after it had been globally panned by previous reviewers. That quickly changed—from the moment the curtain rose, right through to the closing finale it blew away any negative assumptions I had. The show was amazing, fantastic, exhilarating and incredibly clever. Add to that fabulous music and you have a totally satisfying experience—a musical extravaganza that brought into the spotlight an iconic comic character More>>>
Dune Time Arts
Giselle Simons is an emerging artist with a BFA in Photography from Cornell University. However, it was the sheer variety of mediums in which she expresses her unique perspective that made me stand up and take notice. With an obvious acumen in jewelry making, painting and multimedia, Simons is an artist with a powerful and earthy quality.
Her collection of one-of-a-kind hand-painted horseshoe crabs, sourced from the beaches of Fire Island, is nothing short of spectacular. Highlighted by designs series with monikers ranging from ‘Tribal Mask’ to ‘Dreamtime’, these are certainly a conversation piece, as well as a wonderful gift item.
