Mauri Pioppo Fine Jewelry Collection Review & Showroom Launch
The style and sophistication of vintage New York was alive and flourishing last Wednesday evening at jewelry designer Mauri Pioppo’s Fine Jewelry Collection (MPFJ) Review and official New York showroom launch at Ana Martins’ Showroom in the heart of mid-town.
Guests of the evening, fashion consumer and jewelry trade editorial community, jewelry retailers and brand friends, were invited up the red carpet into the 1920’s themed showroom to meet designer and owner, Mauri Pioppo, and to experience a selection of the designer’s latest and greatest inspirational collections. Collections on display included: Mauri Pioppo Signature Love Letters; Firebird; Flower of Life; Galileo; Indian Wedding Princess; Karma; Lakshmi; Ondine; Sacred Geometry; Tahiti Peace; and the limited edition Iliad.
Mauri shared her unique journey and seemingly infinite pool of inspiration and creativity that stemmed from her early career as a professional modern dancer and later when she discovered yoga and became a certified teacher. Her approach - to create collections that reflect the beauty of each individual that call upon mythology, spirituality and metaphor to bring stories to life through beautifully hand-crafted personal treasures.
Designed in 14K yellow gold and sterling silver with accents of precious and semi-precious stones, each collection is distinct and unique, yet carries the common chord of intention and consciousness in every curve and facet of the designs. The designs are rendered in precious metals and stones; but clearly, the design element that shines through is the personal meaning that inspires each.
She shared with guests, that underscoring all of MPFJ’s artistic expressions and design ventures is the belief that by adorning ourselves with powerful archetypal symbols we connect to our true potential and ability to help create a world filled with beauty, peace, and abundance. To that end, one of the founding visions of MPFJ is the cultivation of awareness and support for philanthropic foundations. The Karma collection brings this message across, in the guise of beautiful, wearable jewelry, raising money and visibility for foundations such as Hope for Henry Foundation, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Project Angel Food, Natural Resource Defense Council, ASPCA, The Creative Coalition and The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Following the theme of the evening, guests were treated to a private jazz performance by revered talent Brian Newman at the legendary Oak Room of The Plaza Hotel in New York City.
