In an exclusive interview at Digital Hollywood Conference 2017 with The Rogue Initiative's CEO Pete Blumel and Co-Founder Cathy Twigg, they spoke about the process of the new advances of virtual reality which combines traditional storytelling with innovative gameplay in a unique virtual world. They previewed clips of the New "Crowe: The Drowned Armory."
The interactive VR experience follows a starry-eyed tribal boy who becomes the key to saving his village from alien conquistadors when he inadvertently discovers a long forgotten technology hidden and abandoned by his ancestors a thousand years ago and will learn of his true significance along the way. During the first experience, players will interact with an A.I. Techno-Fairy named AMI (ay-mee), to fight off alien drones with a shield and plasma energy bow, while using head tracking and parallax to solve puzzles in order to activate an ancient robot mech to defeat the giant dragon that dwells at the bottom of a flooded, derelict temple… the Drowned Armory.
The release will be exclusive on the digital distribution platform HTC Vive, Tuesday May 30, 2017 for a two-week window, followed by Oculus on Tuesday June 13, followed by PlayStation VR. The series, which blends fantasy and sci fi, will include cinematic, story, passive modes and arcade-style survival modes in its full release.
