Not Carbs, Luxury.
By Melissa Dimetres
In yet another genius marketing campaign, Not Soap Radio has released their “Bubbles, not Carbs” body wash, the newest in a series of … from Laura and Suzanne Cabot, the brand’s founders. Not Soap Radio is like Hollywood’s version of Fred Segal for the body. While youthful and trendy, the brand also delivers high quality to a large audience, satisfying every customer from the Miley’s to the Diane’s (Keaton, Lane, choose one!)
The promise of their newest product, Bubbles not Carbs, is that it will leave you so satisfied in its luxury there will be no need to reach for the last slice of cake. In a bi-coastal carbophobic culture like our own, this is quite a hefty guarantee.
The thing that makes this product (and all of those by NSR, for that matter) special is that their seemingly outlandish claims are backed by real scientific evidence. The bubble bath/ body wash combo is the ultimate in self-pampering, guilt-free bliss. The vibrant tangerine color and aroma of the product is enough to make you reconsider skipping that morning run. In fact, the scent of tangerine is proven to reduce cravings, especially for sweets. The soap is also infused with Horse Chestnut extract to reduce cellulite and improve circulation, and soothe muscle aches. I can’t say if the effect is real or placebo, but after a week of using the stuff, I couldn’t help feeling like my showers were leading to a smaller appetite and a tighter tush.
In a world where we could all use a little less carbs and a little more confidence, Not Soap, Radio's "Bubbles Not Carbs" is truly a miraculous product.
