The Love of Food & Wine

By Charmaine Bennett
On a recent Tuesday evening, Food Network Celebrity Chef, Maneet Chauhan, partnered up with Chef Silvio Suppa at his beautiful Madison, CT restaurant Café Allegre. Together, they created a masterpiece of a meal to raise money for a young man in need of a life-saving medical treatment. The succulent dishes were paired with very generously donated wines—a pinot noir from Williams Selyem and the Banfi Centine Toscana Bianco.
Each attendee was treated to a specialty cocktail custom-designed by Chef Chauhan and featuring Four Roses Bourbon, a wine-paired appetizer and entree, a scrumptious dessert and a signed and personalized copy of Chef Chauhan's cookbook, Flavors of My World.
The Williams Selyem Pinot Noir simply sang with the Burrata and Prosciutto appetizer and the delicate, yet quite refreshing blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio that makes up the Banfi Centine Toscana Bianco went beautifully with the seafood Cioppino. Overall, an inspiring event and most an importantly a successful one. The food and wines experienced, all resulted in rave reviews.
